Tag Team
I drove across the Granite State to shoot field hockey today, and who do I run into? Timmy, of course. I thought I might see him at the state championships. He was going as I was coming, but we were able to talk about Dance Dance Revolution and blogs before we parted ways.

The Wood Family in Boston
Fashion shoot in the Wood's hotel room.
Poor Ella is allergic to dairy.
I thought this image was a lot more tragic until I saw her working on a cup of sorbet. I think she'll be fine.
Henry holds on to Stacey as the elevator descends. Stacey is Ryan's and Angie's sister-in-law. Henry is their nephew.
Ella tries on her mother's shoes. She is just as cute as she wants to be.
I don't know where she learned this from. It had to of been an outside influence. I'm just sayin'.
Cold treat in a hot city.

Looking for Love
Uncle Jamie is a good uncle. If nothing else he loves his niece, Julia. And who wouldn't, she is absolutely precious. But, as of July, when I last saw Jamie and Julia, the little one was still trying to make sense of her furry-faced uncle. One minute loving him, and another pushing away.
However, Jamie is patient, and Julia is young. I think this relationship is on the up-and-up. One day Julia will run and jump to greet her Unlce Jamie.

Wedding Day Eve
Although wedding rehearsals are often stressful, Sara's and Dave's wasn't nearly as tense as this picture suggests. But, Sara did start crying when she practiced her vows, and I think my dad, who is performing the wedding, was nervous about everything going well.
And more importantly, I realized the light isn't quite as bad as I thought in this wood-walled room.
The real drama came when my grandmother fell down a spiral staircase on my watch. It was absolutely terrifying because I couldn't quite get their fast enough. Miraculously she was ok except for a badly swollen hand which is doing better today. Hopeful the drama will be at a minimum today. Grandma and I hold hands when we walk now.

Kentucky Bound
Last October I was in a rush to leave for the Mountain Workshop in Kentucky. I looked down and found that my good friend and roommate, Brett, had left a farewell gift for me in our hallway: Kentucky bourbon, a cup with tea bag (maybe I was sick), and an atlas with notes of inspiration that traced my journey from Michigan to Kentucky. Now that's a thoughtful friend. The note on top says, "It's time to make some choices. Shit or get off the pot."

The Fam
Here's a picture of my mom, dad, sister, and adorable me. This weekend my sister is getting married. They grow up so fast, don't they?
I'm supposed to give a toast, but I'm not sure what to say. However, by the time I'm on I'll be so shit-faced the toast will give itself. I'm not worried about it. Just point me towards the dance floor.

Implosion
This math building on the Dartmouth College campus is going to be demolished 44 years after its dedication. This is short lived considering the other buildings around it. I wandered around the halls today and found some interesting remnants. I love signs of life in condemned buildings.
Also, check out my boy Ryan's new blog. His daughter Ella is precious. Just as cute as she wants to be.

Montreal
Last weekend I helped my soon-to-be brother-in-law say farewell to the single life during his bachelor party weekend in Montreal. It was a blast. We already got a long marvelously, but it was nice to bond with Dave and get to know his friends, who I might like to now consider my friends too. Below is a documention of everthing that happened . . . everything.
"Welcome!" - Montreal
The crew: Galen, Dave, Peter and Zach
We meditate with the Falun Dafa.
Zach hears his voice echo in grain silos hundreds of feet away.
We ate marvelously in Montreal; Irish, Caribbean and French among other delights.
Dave leaves a voice mail message with his bride: "Nothing to see here, Darling."
Farewell Montreal. We love you.
We wake up in Montreal.

Toilet
I was sent out to find some flatlanders leaf-peeping today, and this is what I found. Bus-loads of leaf-peepers relieve themselves in these closets once they get up to Quechee Gorge. Also consider this post a shout out to Tim's collaborative endeavor the bathroom project.

Dinner at Jen's
On a recent Fall evening, Jen invited Peter and I over for French onion soup and home-made French bread. This all went wonderful with home-made margaritas (a traditonal Fall beverage in Vermont) and Peter's mulled wine. Here is the story of our night in five acts. . .
Act I: Jen picks flowers from her garden for a well-placed arrangement on the dinner table.
Act II: Peter admires Jen's Tunbridge Fair-caliber zucchini.
Act III: Without warning, Peter does his "goat at a petting zoo" impression with tortilla chips.
Act IV: We feast on a wonderful spread. Jen serves salad from her new bowl made from a huge tree knot.
Act V: We end the evening with a screening of Grey Gardens. Here little Edie shares with us the perfect outfit for the day. Peter falls asleep and when its all over we debate the degree to which Big and Little Edie are exploited.
The End.
